He added that “discussions and final points have been, in both concept and great detail, approved by all parties involved, including the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, and others.”

Trump said the U.S. Navy blockade of the Strait of Hormuz would remain in full force until a formal agreement was signed. The time and place of the signing would be announced shortly, he said. Officials indicated interested parties could meet in Switzerland, with a possible signing as early as Sunday, ahead of a G7 gathering in Europe.

The president told reporters he had discussed the potential understanding with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other regional leaders. Those conversations, Trump said, focused on the framework of a possible deal with Iran. He claimed Iran had agreed never to possess a nuclear weapon, describing that commitment as the central purpose of the talks. “That was 95 percent of it,” he said.

Netanyahu’s office later confirmed the call. Israel is not a direct participant in the negotiations, the statement said, but the prime minister welcomed Trump’s commitment that any final agreement would include significant restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program and address other destabilizing activities by the Iranian government. As of Friday, Israel had not publicly commented on a draft memorandum of understanding reported by Iranian state media.

The announcement produced an immediate reaction in financial markets. European stocks rallied, with the pan-European Stoxx 600 climbing 1.8 percent and most major indexes posting gains of around 2 percent in morning trading. Energy markets also moved on the prospect of reduced risk of supply disruptions. U.S. crude oil futures for July delivery fell 1.61 percent, while August Brent crude, the international benchmark, dropped 1.75 percent, according to market reports.

The Strait of Hormuz remains a central strategic concern. Roughly 25 percent of the world’s seaborne oil shipments and about 20 percent of global liquefied natural gas exports pass through the narrow waterway, making it one of the most important energy chokepoints on the planet and a focal point throughout the conflict.

The cancellation came after a period of sharp rhetoric and limited military exchanges. Trump had earlier warned of severe consequences if negotiations failed and had described Iran’s military as severely degraded. U.S. Central Command had announced self-defense strikes against targets in Iran at the direction of the commander-in-chief. The latest announcement marked another abrupt shift between threats of force and claims of diplomatic progress, a pattern that has characterized the monthslong conflict.

Iranian officials did not immediately issue a public confirmation matching Trump’s account of highest-level approval. Previous statements from Tehran have sometimes diverged from White House descriptions of the talks. The blockade of Iranian ports and the status of any nuclear restrictions remain subject to a signed agreement and subsequent implementation. Markets and regional governments will watch closely whether the announced framework holds and whether shipping through the Strait of Hormuz resumes without incident once a document is finalized.

**Trump Cancels Planned Strikes on Iran, Says Deal Framework Approved by Regional Powers** WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he had canceled scheduled U.S. military strikes on Iran, …

[1

post-537","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
["GET
